It's March 28. Think how much things have changed since February 28. They will change far more still before April is over. Unfortunately, we're not nearing the end. At best, we've reached the end of the beginning.

With exponential growth, things look much different even from a week ago. Human minds generally have a real hard time grasping non-linear scales.

bullshit. Normalize it by number of tests being made (which are also increasing), and don't fall into the populism of @fchollet

Indeed, the end of the beginning :/ One new yorker dying every seven minutes now... The front of the tsunami has reached the beach :’(

Around Feb 28, we were closing schools and starting wfh. Many were skeptical! Then two weeks later, I saw the same trend in Europe/US and we were late to act. And now back in Japan a month later we are debating the same thing again! When will we learn?

Wuhan was locked down on Jan 23 and residents will be allowed to leave on April 8. NYC will probably be worse.

Here it is an analysis of the first month in Italy. What went wrong? What went well? Where did we get lucky? What is currently worrying? The hope is that these learnings will be useful to other countries facing the disease. We are all in this together.https://lnkd.in/d6Wx4TE
