Antimask = antivax lite. Masks may not be perfect, but they give you some basic level of protection, and most importantly they protect others from you if you're a carrier (knowingly or not). Wear masks if you have them.

"But by wearing masks we will create a shortage!" The antimask propaganda was at its peak a month before the epidemic got serious in the US, back when we should have ramped up mask production and encouraged everyone to wear them. The shortage is in part caused by this movement.

Also, people don’t know how to properly put them on or take masks off and wind up infecting themselves because they’re constantly adjusting their masks and touching their faces

You're assuming people would behave the same as many Asians do when wearing a mask. Given its commonplace in Asia, they're likely used to wearing them and don't touch their faces much....

Americans are not, would likely then touch their faces to readjust, and therefore increase their chance of infection.
