I actually do want poor people to have healthcare. For free, paid for by my taxes. I also don't think Sanders should be president. This may surprise you, but it's a fairly common combination of views.
Does seem sensible to support Medicare4All, Sander's central policy plank, and also support Joe "Nothing will fundamentally change with Health Care" Biden for the presidency.

I don't think Sanders is populist in the sense you drew an equivalence above. The reason bernie bros riled up is because Sanders is one of those few people who can channel suffering w/o making it like a shtick; creating an emotional connection which can easily become reactive.

I am not a very political person but to me it just seems a prioritization of style over substance. Shouldn't political decisions be taken based on alignment to policy rather than the the presentation style of the policy arguments?
The beautiful thing is that you are free to donate to charities capable of distributing care to those in need. This can be done without any coercion by government. There is no need to impose your wants on others.
