It's nice that they do a prospective study (actual prediction).

This is great. I wonder if the tech will ever get to the level where I can deploy a model to check like this on my phone.

average cost of a CT scan in United States is $3,275 (low= $300 high=6,750). If CT scans become common test for
#COVID2019 in US, who pays? If patient pays, and cost below deductible, won’t many decline? -
CT scan cost would be on top of doctor, ER, meds, disposables costs. How many under-insured/uninsured Americans would be able and willing to pay >$5K just to be tested? (Also same folks may be getting no pay due to closures, contingent worker layoffs, or kids at home)

Whilst technically impressive, this shows a woeful lack of understanding of medical diagnosis. Diagnosing COVID by CT is like delivering newspapers by helicopter - expensive, unnecessary, and dangerous. I don’t know why this was done. It certainly won’t be useful.
-
To be clear, we have simple swab testing that is highly sensitive and specific, with rapid turnaround, and which doesn’t require exposing a patient to ~ 1 year of background radiation. This is a solution looking for a problem.
