The main difficulty with learning something new, is that most things are boring when you're bad at them & only approaching them at an elementary level (e.g. math). You need to stay motivated until you're good enough that the fun of deep practice becomes self-sustaining

I hate the "reward = effort" fallacy, where psychological suffering is meant by effort. Gamify all the things and make progress enjoyable!!

When creating training for beginners, make the first few things really easy but worthwhile and have excellent troubleshooting guides as backup. Warn them that it's normal to feel you're on a roller-coaster when learning.
