People ask me, "if AGI is such a tainted term, what should people interested in generality call it?" It's a research direction, not a destination. A pragmatic answer is to call it "broad AI", or simply "artificial cognitive abilities" (in opposition to task-specific skills).

Is not all/most all AI research interested in generality? I've yet to see a conclusions section of a paper say, "this only matters for the experiments listed above"

I'll cite this tweet in my next grant application when I'm applying for something that's not
