@fchollet Ultimately Alexander’s conquests amounted to little- and he inherited a kingdom and army from his father and grandfather (nepotism). For good historical examples, look at Jacquard, Brunel, Wedgwood, and Watt. -
To say he simply inherited a kingdom is to deny his achievements. Many have inherited kingdoms, riches etc. but few have accomplished even half of what Alexander did in his decade of conquest.

I wonder what will happen if Alexander had a long life (it is too bad he died just after 30~). IMHO, Alexander is a genius, ahead of his time (which even his generals were puzzled by his decisions) :)
