You can definitely do great work without having to sacrifice other aspects of your life -- in fact, in many cases, having a fulfilling life outside of work is a requirement in order to do great work

Greatness is much more about inspiration and quality than about quantity and intensity. Intensity is only a net positive if you already know exactly what you're supposed to be creating

I find a bang-bang control protocol works best. Have a few months looking for new ideas at a lower intensity then crank it back up when it's time to ship
