The French will use the slightest excuse to go on strike & mass protest. Meanwhile Americans can't muster any form of protest, even as their democracy is being dismantled brick by brick, or to demand basic rights such as access to healthcare. Surely there must be a middle ground.

I don't know where this rant tweetstorm is coming from but keep going, great reminder of the USA's paradoxes and pervasive dissonancespic.twitter.com/0MfdJ2yB8u

This thread is basically my thoughts for the last 5-6 years on Americans. They've protested the dumbest and least important issues but the big stuff nobody complains about, i don't get that at all.

By many economic factors middle class Americans are way ahead of Europeans. Take GDP per capita, or median house hold income both around 20-40% higher than average European countries.

They have to have quite a lot of money, much more than Europeans, so that when they get sick they can pay the medical bill, if they can't, almost literally they are dead in the economic sense if they declare bankruptcy... ;-)

I'm sorry but you have not been paying attention. There have been protest against the police for years. There was occupy Wall Street. Then alot of people cheering the French suddenly no longer support protest.
