This is true. One step further: all progress derives from going back to the facts and upgrading your views accordingly. Those looking for confirmation will always find it - confirmation bias. Your approach will work in cases when there is one ultimate truth that must be found. If there is no such a single truth, you’ll get stuck in the infinite loop of always being proved wrong regardless of truth
