"Artificial intelligence" is a very bold label. In practice, I have yet to come across any technique -- at all -- that features even trace amounts of intelligence.

There is C code out there that is, not on purpose, borderline incomprehensible for people to read - reverse engineering the whole mind will take an effort.

How do you rigorously define intelligence?

Whatever it is, it’s not these “fitting” data techniques we call “AÍ”... clearly. Intelligence is creative. It doesn’t just replicate, mimic or extracts patterns, it invents

I don’t really agree. Human reasoning is terribly tied up in human embodiment, both in the individual and society. Pursuing the “special quality” of “intelligence” outside that may be a red herring.

Certainly the quantification off intelligence up to this point has proven fraught.

I'm really confused. How do we define intelligence? Does AI have to be intelligent in the human kind of way? Is intelligence an emergent feature of a complex system of much simpler and unintel components? Do we need "real intelligence" or just something stupid that appears intel?
