I think the notion that there's a "deep learning framework war raging" is pretty mistaken. It's not like there are different clans that don't talk to each other. The majority of people use multiple tools, often within the same project.

Call it a war or a race or a competition, its all the same. While pure researchers enjoy the luxury of throwing away their code after every paper, people building products must choose a framework and live with that choice for a long time.
