Stitch Fix is using something called eigenvector decomposition, a concept from quantum mechanics, to tease apart the overlapping “notes” in an individual’s style. Using physics, the team can better understand the complexities of the clients’ style minds. https://wired.trib.al/IvWQkYM

To be fair, a university press office would probably do the same.

"A concept from quantum mechanics" 😂 On a serious note, I oppose bastardization of the words 'physics' and 'quantum mechanics' to denote a simple concept from linear algebra.

Although technical naivete of writer could be said to warrant every joke being made at [their] expense, the story itself opens opportunities for potentially illuminating dialogues at several levels. Most trivial, tho hardly inconsequential, is who's funding said skills & why. 1/x

My primary interests always lean toward temporal patterns and their relation to conscious experience, with great archetypal demos readily available in musical expression. So what might the eigenvectors be pointing to in these trivial(?) manifestations of human consciousness? 2/x
