Pretty cool, but... it seems like a major security vulnerability that any PR that passes CI will get automatically merged 🤔https://twitter.com/gabro27/status/1173547934132178944 …

So this just happened: - a bot found a vulnerability in a dependency - a bot sent a PR to fix it - the CI verified the PR - a bot merged it - a bot celebrated the merge with a GIF https://github.com/buildo/react-components/pull/1367 … pic.twitter.com/kNEPY5RSHr

More generally, when you delegate any kind of decision-making to an automated process, ask yourself how it could be exploited by an adversary. Humans can adapt on the fly when an attack attempt occurs, but bots cannot. Having humans in the loop can be a powerful security feature.

What AI is and may be missing for a long time is common sense. Humans are not great in computation but may be unbeatable in seeing the bigger picture. Cybersecurity, self-driving cars, medical applications: Humans in the loop are a necessary safety-net against the unforeseen

I understand the human need to keep humans in the loop, but would an evolved intelligence, an AGI, need or want that? Should one species attempt to superimpose its value system(s) on another? I'm going to say 'no' on this. What do you think?
