Snowflakes are a good example of the fact that thermodynamic entropy isn't the same as "order" as perceived by humans. The tweet defines "water plus air" as the "system" and references the second law. You can't get clearer than that. Yes I could have said "snowflake plus surrounding air" a second time but that's over the character limit and unnecessary. Christ

I said it elsewhere, you can make the same point in many other ways, e.g. some guy sealed up in an untidy room who tidies it up. The entropy of the room increases but it looks increasingly more organized What's nice about crystal formation is that it doesn't involve intelligence
