I think that the string "Pre-AGI" is the shortest number of characters that gives me an instant rage aneurism. I despair for the future of our once approximately scientific field, now become the world's most well-financed techno-cult.
If you repeat it enough times you can almost believe it. AGI, AGI, AGI. Capturing all the value in the universe. Solving all of humanity's problems. Most disruptive moonshot in the history of the Simulation. The Silicon Valley thought bubble has always been leading to this point

I fully blame Kurzweil for that view. As with AI in general (no pun intended), time for a re-branding. AGI is now MDI (Multi-Domain intelligence) or XDI (Cross-Domain Intelligence).

We have’t released anything like small quadripeds and quadcopters that are thrown outside, continuously learning in the wild, seeing picking stepping on stuff, recording huge growing dataset. Every bigco still do sims, or overfit to roads with robot cars research.
