There is no democratic country where the relatives of the president/prime minister are given government positions or where the presidency is held by a billionaire using executive power to advance their private business interests and generally pillage the coffers. None.
There are plenty of countries where these things happen, however. Just not working democracies. It often goes together with other issues such as high corruption levels, failing infrastructure, poor educational outcomes, and internal ethnic tensions.
The operative term being “working democracies”. Clearly the American democracy experience has failed, if even temporarily.
