@rationalexpec @femisapien_z que acham? Acho, em minha ignorância, que depois do boom do deep learning realmente os campos (stat e ML) divergiram o suficiente para serem considerados distintos. Hoje em dia ML seria um ramo da matemática aplicada ou da computação ou outra coisa?
Machine learning is glorified statistics in the same sense that medicine is glorified chemistry: despite some amount of shared concepts and shared vocabulary, they're entirely different fields, with different goals, interests, methodology, and tools.
