Dead serious about this -- the development of AI in the future will be tied to games, but not primarily because we'll be designing AIs to play human games.

Why so? Games seem like a nice environment to test out more "general" learning algorithms

2 play games you need MCTS atten LSTM etc mixed together 2 assess situ & make decisions accordingly. But 2 design a "game" AI gonna need A HELL more than that, you need 2 make a simplified virtual environment ("understanding" about the physical reality?), with proper rules.
