If you replace AI research with 3D printer R&D, this is the equivalent of saying: "we're building a matter photocopier. The "matter photocopier" investor pitch actually has a few advantages over the "AGI" pitch: it's well-defined and well-scoped -- you know what it does, and why it is valuable. As for how it works -- surely nothing we can't figure out with a $2B budget? How difficult could it be?
