Remember 2013, when Very Serious researchers and pundits warned us that AI & robotics would cut employment by a factor of 2 within 15 to 20 years? US unemployment has gone from 8% to 3.6% in the 6 years since.

Yes, but how do we find employment when transport is given over to automation? This is not the same thing as 1928. There are a lot of jobs now, there won't be in the future. 'New jobs' don't employ as much people as transport or retail.

Employment without a check, if salaries of two are sufficient to support a family of three, are no argument whatsoever. Providing and controlling labor as a means of power that enables access to a decent standard of living is and stays in decline.

I wasn't there, but I have worked supporting a factory floor. The difference of salary and life quality between the humans programming the machines, and the humans using the machines was dramatic.
