I've been wondering about this a lot. Do you think the gain in efficiency that comes with implementing some IA can outlay the cost in energy used to train them? GPUs & server are incredibly power hungry. But these could be useful. To what extent should we take that into account?

So much progress in deep learning and AI and still we are trying to improve the performance scores. With all such performance improvements and computation power can't we do anything to conserve biodiversity and protect environment or atleast slow down global warming?
