I love Kaggle. It's a great example of a small company that has punched way above its weight in terms of total impact. It has really made its mark on the data science and machine learning world. Perhaps more than any other company.

Kind of philosophical these few days. Congrats on TF 2.0. The pursuit of progress and knowledge is always tainted by power and profits. Fight it when we can, accept it when we must. If Kaggle disappears, there will be others.

The kernel environment is also amazing - they could sell that into data related teams easily

Active there since mid-2016. It has helped me sharpen my skills in DS and ML significantly. Also, I am proud to be part of "KaggleNoobs", one of the best DS communities out there (Beware! the name is a misnomer) https://kagglenoobs.herokuapp.com

Well said .Kaggle is all in one package where we can learn as well as apply our skills, get rewarded and share knowledge. Best platform for data science,ML and DL.

I love Kaggle too. But I'm not sure about it being mostly competition. I see Kaggle as mostly collaborative, people building off others and learning from others. If people view Kaggle as primarily competitive, they might miss most of what makes Kaggle great.

By opening up their datasets, they also provided a really important resource for people teaching ML. Their datasets tend to be just the right level of need cleaning but not a complete disaster.
