Exactly. I hate most analogies to biology, and think that, in most cases, they are more about hype than rigorous thinking - however, if you are going to make them, at least don't make them completely incorrect.
Yep, it's hype. The only point of these analogies is to feed the narrative in which machines have capabilities that are parallel to that of biological creatures, and are on the way to overtake them. The analogy doesn't make any scientific sense, and isn't insightful in any way.

I am too, but, it's sad that a totally incorrect tweet has been RT'd 47 times, including by several highly intelligent people on my TL. Fighting disinformation on social media is really challenging.
