It's virtually impossible to convey ideas over Twitter due to the constraints of the format. Twitter is for catchphrases -- it's a purely emotional medium. A meme machine.

Completely flawed logic. It's an information machine. I like the use of the word virtually. Not sure I agree with purely emotional. I think that falls on the reader to determine what to read and how to react.

@Teri_Kanefield does it. She could write a thesis using Twitter. After all, all you need is a sentence after the other. :)

I think this is part of the reason why it's so attractive—and dangerous—for politicians. Political discourse is constantly being compressed into sound bites, oversimplified into short taglines. Twitter is great for this.
