The most frustrating part is that their awfulness is single-handedly destroying the reputation of the tech industry. Please do not compare Facebook to Microsoft, or Amazon, or Google, or Apple. They are in a league of their own. No one else is even 10% as bad, not even Palantir.
At least we'll get one thing out of it: more regulations, and more pressure on everyone else to act ethically. Not a bad thing.

Bad is actually very multidimensional, there are so many ways you can be "bad" that comparing companies is difficult. As a long time FOSS contributor I recall how Microsoft behaved in the past, that harm was enormous and blatant.
