I'm not sure why college is so expensive in the US. Tuition is clearly not the cost of education itself; effective study is very cheap, especially in our day and age. It's mostly due to bloated administration and sports subsidies. There are more administrator's than teaching faculty in many Universities. Also most college athletic teams cost way more than they bring in.
