And 1000x cost/km^2? I would *love* to see this be a reality, but I haven't seen anything that convinces me that the costs that prevent other tunnel projects won't also come into play here.

The problems with NYC’s subway have convinced me that we need some change here, at least in the US. Maybe not what Musk is selling, but the status quo is pretty terrible.

What about being able to send information through some kind of network so that people can work from their homes? Imagine energy and human time saved, pollution, efficiency,… if such technology was conceivable…
