Trump as a (willing) vector of fascism - https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/10/trump-alt-right-twitter/574219/ … (or, to use the terms of art, a catalyzer of the ethno-nationalist "alt-right" and its "racially-charged rhetoric")

Posting this on here is of course a magnet for highly toxic replies, so I'm not doing it for fun. I think it's important to call a spade a spade. We should use the meaning of words as intended.

What is your understanding of "word salad" Liam and how is it relevant in this context?

I call bullshit - the word fascism is now used as a whip on all who dare to have ideas disliked by "the mainstream". This usage has been pioneered by Stalin himself after WW II, who called Polish Patriots that way in spite of them fighting 5 years against Germans and bolsheviks

No, he is using fascism very carefully and precisely here. Here's a good list of some fascist principles: http://www.openculture.com/2016/11/umberto-eco-makes-a-list-of-the-14-common-features-of-fascism.html … It's worth having a think about how Trump and other strongman rulers use these.

I would be very pleased to talk about my country and the relation it has to what you posted, but sadly i can not and fortunately you can! (It would have consequences for me ) This is the main difference between what you concede to trump and what it means to be exact.

Most of people here talk about idea they never experienced, for past 2500 years people of Iran never tasted democracy and sadly they always analyse the democracy of other countries. Sadly, you have never tasted fascism, and you are very likely to use it. With Respect and <3.

The first thing I expect from people that claim to understand a subject is to demonstrate their understanding by making accurate predictions about non trivial aspects of the subject's behaviour. This is where everyone fails r.e. Trump, he even seems opaque those close to him. 🦉

Far more concerned about google. How do you feel about the way James Damore was handled? Do you care he was fired for sharing factual research?
