      You can't use Keras optimizers in tf.keras with eager execution enabled. The worst part is that I lose control over my optimizer now and can't change things like LR in between the epochs. Come on guys! Keras is love, please don't ruin it. @TensorFlow

      Greetings! Could you please file a short issue w/ a code snippet that shows what you'd like to do? Important to me to make tf.keras work :) Various examples here in case any of them are helpful (as a first suggestion, you could write a training loop w/ gradient tape):

      Here's a quick example showing how to set the LR using the gradient tape style https://colab.research.google.com/drive/10OIcUdwRiHbQK4p32MEABG_G4_D44YKH … This prob isn't quite what you need - yeah, please add a more verbose snippet showing the way you'd like it to work, and we'll check it out.

      This approach is more preferable because everything is a part of your model. Though, I see no harm in using gradient tape but people who would be switching from Keras to tf.keras and eager would want that IMO

      We'll be merging the TF optimizers and Keras optimizers in TF 2.0, so they will have the same features and capabilities. This should ship soon
