Believe it or not, the legality of fax polling under TCPA and the Junk Fax Prevention Act is extremely murky. oppinion polls are conducted by random dialing. It does not matter what kind of phone is at the other end.

A lot of polls are done through Robo callers too. I feel like that alone causes a significant bias in the data by filtering out anyone who doesn’t want to listen to a robot tell them to press numbers on a phone.
