I think there are 3 kinds of ambition. The first kind is to seek external validation -- money & status. A higher kind is to seek impact & legacy. The highest kind is to seek answers. To seek to see clearly. What's really going on in this universe? Ambition is a selfish thing.
No, don't take "higher" to mean "nobler". It's not some empty value judgment. It means more ambitious. Getting rich is easy. Making your mark on the world and having your name remembered is harder. But figuring out the meaning of all this? Now here's a challenge.

There are tens of millions of millionaires in the world. Many of them didn't start out rich. How many will be remembered in 100 years? A few thousands. That's what easy/hard means. And if you want to be one of them -- go where you're needed, create more value than you capture.
I am not sure that getting rich is easy. Also the other two ambitions might be prone to delusions. You might think you got answers, but in reality you are wrong. Impact and legacy are hard to judge and measure, so they might mislead. With money you know when you don't have them.

Getting rich is not easy, but attainable by many. Having your name remembered in a good way is attainable by few. Regarding figuring out the meaning of these: what if there is no meaning at all?
