Predictably, my mentions are now full of replies essentially amounting to "yeah Hitler was bad, but WHAT ABOUT Churchill, how was he any different since he did some bad things too?"

Not arguing with your original point. Nor am I putting Hitler and Churchill on the same moral plane. But “some bad things” that Churchill did resulted 4 million dead Indians. Their deaths may not matter much to rest of the world but for us they certainly do.

Also: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/nov/30/athens-1944-britains-dirty-secret … Churchill was no angel and he did not mere do "some bad things". The far right political descendants of that time still haunt Europe today.
