And that's *after* we spent a lifetime tuning most of our brain to make sense of that data stream. You can slightly increase our rate of information intake with a better visual interface (better app design). But a higher-bandwidth neural data transfer link would be useless

Hmm. Do we not take in *and process* at least some kinds of data faster via non-textual visual input? If so, is it fair to use reading speed as a proposed upper limit?

Interesting topic. e.g. I admire many things Elon is doing, but can't yet fully grasp the huge expectations around Neuralink... I agree w/your view that our bottleneck isn't mainly information "inflow", but "understanding" it and integrating it within our complex neural pathways

Just out of curiosity, what do you think are the information our visual system take but we do not process because of the understanding limit? I’m sitting at a McDonald’s having my dinner, wondering what could be missing.

The data flow of our visual system is huge but it does an incredible job at SOME functionalities by processing it in a specific way. I think it’s just hard to tell how our brain will react to the BCI information because we do not have any experience training it yet.

The very fact that you have to break this into different tweets to explain the points proves what you are trying to say to us... Other medium of exchange like blog can help but tweet helps with attention interval of many...
