I wish the insects could tell us in human language, what they observe
That's also why it is of limited interest to study insect brains in order to understand cognition: understanding how brains can learn, and understanding how a specific connectome can generate complex behavior, are two independent, nearly unrelated problems.

I think that studing brains of bees might be insightful. From what I know bees can communiate about flowers using dances in the air. They can also copy behaviour of other bees to get nectar. Also from recent studies they can uderstand concept zero (nothing<something).
