In his translations (from Greek, the language of philosophy), Cicero often had to resort to long expressions to convey the meaning of a single term. He had to introduce entirely new words -- he had to invent the Latin vocabulary necessary for philosophy.

But which language do you find most productive? I’m bilingual and speak one other language well enough to think in, and find that certain topics lend themselves naturally to one language or another. I’m always curious to compare notes with others w/ similar experiences.

Curious. What's the other language and which topics lend better to which? I'm trilingual, great at 2 languages but find myself mostly thinking in English..
