You can find many people or causes who need your help more than I do.
In the context of open-source though, this would mean "contribute to the project (with PRs, docs, answering issues) instead of merely using it & requesting maintainers' time to solve your own issues"

Good and straight-forward answer! That’s one of the things that was in the back of my mind for some time but on which I didn’t follow through. So I guess, I’m starting to contribute to open-source projects.
