The scientific method is still unfamiliar to the majority of people. A big failure of our educational system. We teach what science has achieved, but we don't teach how.

“But it’s just a theory!” Yeah, I don’t remember having scientific method at any level of education, I had to stumble upon it myself. But I feel like school teaches conformity and not asking questions, so scientific method is an enemy.

I'd actually wager that to an extent, it is -- and that some endeavors in philosophy of science are to critically analyze the scientific method. It's origins, of course, coming from a small group of white men who said that science must be conducted in a particular way.

Climate change is being measured. There is no debate to be had about the fact of it. There exists no observation that would challenge the conclusion that the current abnormal global warming is caused by humans releasing greenhouse gases, either.
