Always remember, almost no one buys BTC to use it. All buyers are trying to get rich quick. But every pump & dump has a "dump" part. Like John, buyers will eventually find themselves at the wrong end of a dump.
I think you’re alienating a large portion of people who believe it’s a store of value & hard currency that hedges against inflation - yes there are many speculators but there are also many who believe it’s “digital gold” that will have many protocalls built on it (ie LN etc)

There is one legitimate use as “better than gold” commodity if you are trying to get money out of China, Venezuela etc.
btc is quite popular as a gateway to less popular crypto-currencies and platforms. it's much easier to convert fiat<->btc than buy altcoins directly
You don’t need to buy any if you just want to use it / play with it. Just use test net coins. Bitcoin is too big to pump and dump now. It’s not a penny stock.
