Extremists take away rights, freedom, prosperity, and in exchange they provide a comforting belief system where you are an exceptional yet persecuted hero. Many people are willing to make that trade. How to fix this? Education.

In my laziness I've automated processes which led to higher output. If I wasn't lazy I may not have insisted on doing things a different way. I'm serious, my goal wasn't to work harder.
Prosperity is a shiny object. I don’t know the demographics of voters for Brexit or other extremist, faux populist gov’t in the West but besides research showing Trump voters voted based on a loss sense of status more than any “economic anxiety” — their median income was $70,000.
7.6 + billion people. How would you educate them? The problem is not so much education as it is lack of having viable bottom line voice in their share of the direction of teamwork generation of benefits shared. All having an equal voice drowns out extremism & other misdirection.
How to know this. The masses have far more in friends, family and loved ones than the few. You either trust the peoples summed team direction, or you rig elections, use brute force to impose extremism & fabricate false divides so to steal value away from the people... & yourself.
The education system in america is hopelessly ineffective and mainly functions as a source of social indoctrination and financial entrapment :(
