The problem of fact-based, reasonable views, is that they don't play on people's passions. Thus they are at an unfair disadvantage compared to propaganda unmoored from facts, tuned to make people's blood boil. Seen this imbalance in action so many times since 2016

A persuasive argument needs pathos, logos and ethos. Many folks dont have the desire to follow deductive logic anf appealing to emotion is easier en-masse when its negative. Negativity bias and the reptilian brain is a strong combo
