Isn't that partially the promise of the progressive web app? All the discoverability / shipability of the web, but with the features of their native cousins.

My experience with PWAs so far has been that they are generally much faster / more reliable / less bloated than their native counterparts. Though, I'm still waiting for a shift towards languages like rust compiled to wasm..

Phone interfaces must dramatically change to enable that. Rn keeping tabs on hundreds of web pages – no problem. Hundreds of apps... A bit more difficult.

We're actually pretty close to that if you use React Native and CodePush. Once you get your app past the Apple garbage hole, you can push JS bundle changes instantly over the wire, thus making it approximately as easy as pushing to prod on web.
