For mobile to overtake it, you'd need to make app creation & app publishing on all appstores as fast easy as putting up a web page (plus app discovery as good as web search) Push a button, and everyone can find your app. It will happen eventually

Completely agree. I often complain that the 'web' technologies are (were) very poorly designed from a software engineering point of view. Things are improved but fragmentation, the mix between declarative and imperative, rapid growth, and browser wars have left us with a mess...

Completely agree. It was hard at first to even explain how web pages could be apps. Why the DOM was important. That start warped the perspective.

Correction is more involved than many who agree may believe. Careful of false corrections as such will only make things worse. Proper correction means starting over & that's simply not acceptable, until after tech & software ind. fall, where restart then acceptable, for survival.
