1/ Viable fetuses are not “aborted”. This is simply not something that happens. If there is a problem with a pregnancy in the final weeks, labor is induced. If the baby can be saved, doctors will save it. Otherwise, it’s a stillbirth.

2/ The law clearly protects viable fetuses. It has since Roe v. Wade. No one has advocated otherwise.

3/ Anti-abortion activists want people to think that abortion basically looks like Kermit Gosnell’s clinic. What he did wasn’t abortion. It was infanticide being run under the guise of an abortion clinic. No responsible or legal women’s clinic does what he did.

4/ But the myth that women are having live fetuses cut up inside them at 33, 34, 35 weeks has had serious consequences. There are women going to clinics to deliver stillbirths who get screamed at by protestors all the way, and need escorts for their safety.

6/ And of course any politician who speaks up for women’s rights gets accused of supporting “abortions up until the moment of birth”. Doug Jones is being accused of it now, even though there’s no such thing.
