That is a very good article! 💪 From the ruby developer's perspective, it was very educational to see the python's approach to memory management. It looks very similar to memcached's.

In OSS, there are no sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives, 1:1s, 360s, quarters, velocities, estimations, deadlines, project managers, "how is this going", year goals, ..., could go on and on. Yet it ships non-stop and runs the world.

Introducing online_migrations ( github.com/fatkodima/onli): it detects unsafe migrations in dev and provides helpers to run them easier in production. You can easily rename tables/columns, change columns types, add columns with defaults, run data migrations on very large tables etc

Трохи страшилок на ніч - github.com/ruby/ruby/pull Виглядає (і по даті співпадає) як дуже поганий жарт на 1 квітня. В ruby 1.9 був найкращий синтаксис, а потім вже почали додавати і постійно додають тільки всякий непотрібний жахливий треш.

The next time someone says that a test suite is slow because it's a big project, point out that you can build Postgres from scratch on a fast machine in ~30s and run its test suite in ~15s. Test suites are slow because their progenitors were sloppy, not because they have to be.
