Either way, it's not in the State's true authority to hold the child hostage & forbid his parents from taking any opportunity presented to them. As his parents they hold the ultimate authority on this decision because he is unable to make the decision. The State is tyrannical.

No. the state has a perfect right to stop adults from abusing children. I know the Catholics dont agree with this. But it does.

Wrong, this is not a case of abuse. You're arguing for a precedent that would allow the State to decide who deserves to live & who doesn't. If a child is born with a disease with a high mortality rate, does the State have the right to forbid the parents from seeking care?
