You can be forgiven for sin and made blameless, but all sin will be judged and ultimately destroyed. God does not compromise on sin - He is an all-consuming, purifying fire. Eternal life is the gold that is purified by the fire, but all impurities will be completely burned away.
God sees the end from the beginning and is not subject to time. He has already judged the world and the hearts of men, and His wrath has burned against all sin from the beginning and will burn until the end. His word is eternal.

"Lord have mercy on me!" This is the prayer of a righteous man. You are forgiven, yes - but if you don't feel revulsion and remorse at the sin in your life, then you don't understand the position you're in or comprehend the wrath of God. A reprobate mind is one that accepts sin.

Rule of thumb: If you truly fear God's judgment and merely desire to do good and be free of sin, then you're probably in a good spot. If you don't care at all or you tell yourself that God isn't real and/or He won't judge you... may He have mercy on your soul.
