And maybe another serious discussion on how the AU should then be given a serious place in global diplomacy because this is not the first time it needs to clean up the mess or others!

Agreed on AU diplomatic centrality in the process! But UN assessed contributions are highly unlikely after Nov/Dec '19 defeat. In the absence of that, EU funding would be an option (cf AMISOM) - but France would likely block this, as it would at UNSC. What other options do u see?

My answer is simple: the world cannot have its cake and eat it. EU funding is no longer predictable (the issues with AMISOM are an example) plus it is framed as EU doing favours to the AU, which it isnt. So we need to elevate the debate to a global scene and the UN funding is key

Exactly! I was so pissed when I saw this photo from the meeting in
#Berlin, the AU chairpeson was standing behind when the meeting was supposed to have centred around whatever@_AfricanUnion advised. Time and time again, AU have had to clean up the mess, this has to stop!Hvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi
