I've never said any racial slur of any other race at 16, I knew well enough at that time. That isn't "kids being kids" that's future adults being racist early. All sorts of stuff blocks kids from getting into Harvard (esp. behavior), this should be no exception.

That's your experience. It's not the case for everyone though. People grow and change, and regardless of what we're talking about, removing the chance for growth is detremintal to everyone.

Add to that insta-mobs (where do they find the time btw?) & their need to hold an institution accountable asap without any sense of context, due process or else... As you said: adults used to be kids who made mistakes & learned & bettered themselves. That's a valuable process.
