    New releases for all Fastvue Reporter products that mitigate the Log4J vulnerability -> This is in addition to our previous recommendation to add an environment variable to your Fastvue server.

    But at this stage, it looks like running Fastvue Reporter, even without the environment variable is very low risk.

    However, we still recommend adding the LOG4J_FORMAT_MSG_NO_LOOKUPS environment variable to your servers. Especially if you have other services installed that could also be using log4j under the hood. There are many of them out there!

    Update: Elastic have since downgraded the issue saying"Elasticsearch is not susceptible to remote code execution with this vulnerability due to our use of the Java Security Manager" which is good news:

    If you're only using 's Proxy-based web filter profiles for the 'Log all search keywords' feature, you can switch to the faster Flow-based profiles and use Reporter instead as it extracts searches from the logged URL.

    The new DPI engine in XG is fast, efficient and decrypts TLS 1.3, but it doesn't support SafeSearch or YouTube restrictions. With some creative rules, you can get the best of both worlds.
